A Little about Us
Work in Football was founded in 2024.
We help students & career changers break into the football industry by advising them on what they need to do & showing them how they can do it. James is the former player-care role lead at Portsmouth FC Women & left his role to go full-time with Work In Football in May.
He has been in football for the last 3 years and whilst he was at university he noticed many people graduating and struggling to get jobs in the industry. He also went through the university route and understands how it can be quite daunting to think about life post university, that is why it is best to plan early & have a few options.
Three Tips to help get into football!
Network
Networking is so important. Not just in your career but in all aspects of your life. Learn to network and opportunities will present themselves to you.
LinkedIn is a great place to start.
Gain Experience
You can then leverage that network to gain experience in the football industry.
Too many students leave university with no experience. Focus on this whilst you are at university and this will severely increase your chances of a job after graduating.
CPD
CPD is vital. Continued Professional Development means you are committed to self-improvement within your field.
We suggest doing as many courses as possible, you can put these on your CV and use the skills you learn out in the field.
